The aim in Napoleon Total War is to rewrite history in a combination game of real-time battle tactics and turn-based political strategy. The question is, can you outdo one of the greatest military commanders of all time? The game challenges both your diplomatic and tactical skills as you lead your nation to victory across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. If you've ever played Rome Total War or Empire Total War or are simply a history buff, then Napoleon Total War is a must.\nNapoleon Total War features an incredible amount of historical detail. You can fight famous battles such as Austerlitz, the Battle of the Nile and Waterloo and command thousands of troops in huge land battles and naval engagements. Keeping on top these battles can be very tough and it's wise not to open too many fronts at once. Much of the game is won strategically and how you execute your plan of action. Like any real battle, the planning before hand is crucial to success or failure.
You can play Napoleon Total War as one of the Four Great Powers i.e. Great Britain, Austria, Prussia and Russia. Napoleon Total War doesn't ignore economics either - during the game you must try to forge alliances, negotiate trade routes and research new ideas and technologies in order to build a superpower.
LAN and multiplayer modes
To really enjoy Napoleon Total War, it's recommended that you play either in multiplayer or LAN mode against other friends or other opponents online. Napoleon Total War supports Game Center too but you'll need OS X 10.8.3 or above. Napoleon Total War can be a very overwhelming game with so much to keep track of. However, if you've ever played Empire Total War or Rome Total War, then you'll have no problems managing troops. Note that this Napoleon: Total War Gold Edition includes the main game, The Peninsular Campaign and three unit packs: the Imperial Eagle Pack, the Heroes of the Napoleonic Wars Pack and the Coalition Battle Pack.
